
Presidential Elections Final Results
The number of Palestinians who voted reached 775,146 citizens in the West Bank (including Jerusalem) and Gaza Strip, and the compiling of all results of sorting in the various stations (2,838 stations) came as follows:
Fatah candidate Mahmoud Abbas got 483,039 votes (62.32%)
Independent candidate Mustafa Barghouthi got 153,516 votes (19.80%)
DFLP candidate Taysir Khaled got 27,118 votes (3.5%)
PPP candidate Bassam Al-Salhi got 20,844 votes (2.69%)
Independent candidate Abdul Haleem al-Ashqar got 20,774 votes (2.68%)
Independent candidate Sayyed Barakeh got 9,809 votes (1.27%)
Independent candidate Abdul Kareem Shubeir got 5,874 votes (0.76%)
Void ballot papers reached 29,366 papers (3.79%)
White ballot papers reached 24,806 papers (3.02%)
The voters’ turnout, the ratio of those who voted reached 71% of the voters' register which has been prepared recently by the Central Elections Commission while only 12% participated in the elections from the civil register which is issued by the Interior Ministry.
It should be noted that around 1.8 million who are above 18 are entitled to vote, but those who registered reached 1,282,524 Palestinians according to the figures published by the Central Elections Commission.
It should be noted that 26,365 Jerusalemite Palestinians voted out of 120,000 persons who have the right to vote.
It should be noted that 70% of the citizens registered in the voters register which has been prepared in the past three months and more than 30% of the Palestinians did not register.
