9/25/05:  The Top 4 in the division race at MP&W!  Courtney maintains her lead by edging Angela in a head-to-head competition for the first time this season.  It shall be decided in race #9...

9/10/05:  The top 3 in the division compete on the hills of Wild Cat Den!

9/5/05:  Angela Karkosh runs her 2nd race of the year and moves back into 2nd place.  Courtney VanDeMaat maintains 1st.  Taylor Humphrey runs her third consecutive race of the season and jumps way up to 3rd.

7/11/05:  Running three of the first four races, Courtney VanDeMaat finds herself with a substantial lead in the season-long points race.

Next 5:  Sarah Pfeiffer, Emily Stych, Korie Gafeller,  Kellen Minick, Marissa Kelly.  Total participants:  44.

15-29

Stephanie Kopf, Women's 15-29 division Winner.

10/9/05:  Jill Hughes wins the Women's race at MHSCC and jumps to 7th place for the season! 

9/25/05:  #1 and #2 upgrade at MP&W!  Stephanie Kopf mathematically clinches her first GP Division Championship in the process!

9/10/05:  6 of the top 10 in this division tackled the hills and trails of Wild Cat Den.  Outstanding!

9/5/05:  Stephanie keeps 1st place with the Stampede results.  9 of the top 10 in this division ran the Stampede.  Hope to see y'all at the last three races!

7/30/05:  Holly Cochran takes advantage of idle Stephanie Kopf and is within 400 points after the Fair.  Megan Myers enters the Top 10 in 6th with a flashy-fast Fair effort.

7/11/05:  Relative newcomer to the GP scene, Stephanie Kopf, has found the motto "race well and often" works!

30-34

Kandice Tjebkes, Women's 30-34 Winner.

10/9/05:  Linda Steele races at MHSCC and jumps into 2nd place for the season!

9/24/05:  Linda Steele jumps way up to 3rd place with her MP&W effort!

9/10/05:  No one in the Top 10 ventured to Wild Cat Den.  In the absence of any competition, Kandice Tjebkes Clinches her 3rd consecutive GP Championship!  (Kandice also sets a new personal record for points in a season by eclipsing '04's 4841 point total.)

9/5/05:  Kandice creeps ever-closer to the magical "mathematical clinch."

7/30/05:  Kandice is better than "fair" at the Fair, again scoring huge points.  Rae Lynn Lamparek enters the Top 10 at 4 with her County Fair Run effort.

7/11/05:  2 time defending 30-34 Women's GP Champ, Kandice Tjebkes, is having another stellar year capped by her recent overall victory at Grandview.

35-39

Stacey Eberhard, Women's 35-39 Winner.

10/9/05:  Stacey Eberhard adds her 6th GP effort and Clinches her 1st GP division Championship!

9/25/05:  With one race left, it will come down to Stacey Eberhard and Andrea Failor to determine who will win the Women's 35-39 GP Championship!

9/10/05:  Half of the Top 10 race at Wild Cat Den!  Great job!

9/5/05:  Stacey Eberhard had company at the Stampede, but maintains her substantial lead heading into the final three races!

7/30/05:  The County Fair Run had solid efforts in the 35-39, with Stacey adding to her lead, and Kristi Howes, Audrey Rasmussen and Jackie Henderson entering the Top 10 with their, first-of-the-season GP efforts.

7/11/05:  The young age divisions on the women's side are dominated this year by new GP runners, Stacey Eberhard included.  This GP race has almost a 1200 point lead heading into the 2nd half of the season.

Next 5:  Kim Thompson, Kristi Howes, Wendy Busch, Cathy Weiland, Audrey Rasmussen.  Total Participants:  48.

40-44

10/9/05:  Kelly Summers adds her 3rd GP race effort and jumps all the way to 4th place in the season standings!

9/24/05:  Lisa and Teri each had two GP Championships heading into this season.  Both women put up big numbers again this season, but with Lisa's MP&W effort, she has mathematically clinched her 3rd consecutive GP Championship!

9/10/05:  Teri Lyon takes the Wild Cat Den challenge and adds big points to her season total!

9/5/05:  Lisa Hughes remains in first place, with Teri Lyon and Teresa Flack in 2nd and 3rd, having posted solid numbers in 4 and 5 races respectively.

7/30/05:  Lisa scores 1000 for the outright win at the Fair (and $100 in prize money) and adds to her lead.  Teri Lyon also has a big point race day, inching ever-closer to 2nd place.

7/11/05:  Lisa Hughes, GP age division winner in the first two seasons, has raced well early, including two more overall victories (15 overall GP wins since the Grand Prix Era began in 2003).  Teresa Flack has kept it close by stringing together four solid efforts and another 2 time GP age division winner, Teri Lyon and Jo Schuman are not far behind in 3rd and 4th respectively.

45-49

10/9/05:  Julie Hamman adds another effort and finishes in 5th, while Barb Gross does likewise and makes the Top 10!

9/26/05:  Note the correction below regarding Julie Hamman, who with her 4th GP effort of the year jumps to 7th place in the standings.

9/24/05:  Paula clinches her first GP Championship at MP&W!

9/10/05:  On the strength of her 4th race effort, Kathryn Keating jumps way up into 3rd place!

9/5/05:  Paula returns for the Stampede and adds to her division lead.

7/30/05:  Kirsten Kunse-Holmquist, Peggy Bailey and Kathryn Keating all race at the Fair and find themselves in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the GP Season standings with a little over half of the racing season over.

7/11/05:  After 5th and 3rd place finishes in the first two years of the Grand Prix, Paula Gillespie runs the first four races of the season well and now has over a 2100 point buffer going into the hot, middle stretch of the season.

50-54

Nancy Shell, Women's 50-54 leader.

9/25/05: After incorporating MP&W results, and based on the strength of 7 race efforts, Nancy Shell clinches her second consecutive GP Championship!

9/10/05:  Nancy Shell races at Wild Cat Den, upgrades (drops the 190 from Malachy) and in the process Clinches her 2nd consecutive GP Division Championship!  Betty Karkosh, who also tackled the hills and trails of Wild Cat Den jumps all the way up to 3rd place.

9/5/05:  Nancy Shell had company as 7 of the top 10 in the division joined her at the Stampede, including Women's Master's Winner, Janelle Swanberg.

7/30/05:  Nancy Shell, adds her 5th race effort of the year and to her 1st place lead heading into the Stampede.  Good racing, Nancy!

7/11/05:  Nancy Shell, last year's 50-54 Women's GP winner, remains in 1st place after 4 with, Brandi Osborn racing three times and staying close in 2nd.

9/25/05:  Madonna Novak has mathematically clinched her 3rd consecutive GP Division Championship!

9/5/05:  Madonna races at the Stampede, gets her minimum 3rd race and increases her lead.

7/30/05:  Patti Koenig enters the Top 10 in 6th place following her County Fair race effort.

7/11/05:  Madonna Novak won the 2003 and 2004 Women's 55-59 GP Divisions and finds herself again in first place.

60-64

JoAnn Jensen, Women's 60-64 Division Winner.

10/9/05:  JoAnn Jensen Clinches her 3rd consecutive GP Division Championship!  Karen Luedtke races as well and jumps into 8th in the final standings!

9/24/05:  JoAnn adds to her lead with her MP&W effort, while Margaret Stych scores her most points in a race for the season!

9/10/05:  JoAnn Jensen and Joni Axel both add points to their season totals at Wild Cat Den!

9/5/05:  JoAnn Jensen and Margaret Stych are still 1 and 2, but it is great to see 8 of the top 10 at the Stampede!

7/30/05:  Pat Kordick joins the GP leaderboard in this division following her County Fair Effort.  Welcome aboard, Pat!

2-time defending GP Champ, JoAnn Jensen, appears again atop the leader board, but Margaret Stych is close behind having posted two good races of her own.

65-69

10/9/05:  Sue Koehrsen Clinches her 2nd consecutive GP Divison Championship!

9/24/05:  Sue and Donna are still close enough in the standings, along with those tied for 3rd, that this division will be decided at the last race of the season!

9/10/05:  After Wild Cat Den, Sue Koehrsen jumps from 4th to 1st place!  Carol Washburn and Mary Ann Steward race as well and enter the Top 10!

9/5/05:  The wackiest and wildest division, independent of gender, is now the Women's 65-69 division, with the three top women separated by a scant 6 points!  Don't forget 4th place, Sue Koehrsen, last year's winner and the only runner in the division so far to compete in the minimum required 3 races (to be eligible for the Grand Prix age division championship.)

7/30/05:  Norma Bell and Janice Salemink make it to the leaderboard for the 65-69 division.  Good job!

7/11/05:  Last year's division winner, Sue Koehrsen is in 1st place after Grandview!

9/25/05:  Because no one will have participated in the minimum three races, there will be no 70-74 GP Division Champion for '05.

9/9/05:  Julia Elliot jumps into the standings in 2nd place.  The question remains:  will anyone in the division get their 3 races in?

7/30/05:  Marilyn McKillip and Shirley Sterner post their first GP race of the year at County Fair.  Will they get the minimum requirement of three races and go for their age division title?

75-79

Dorothy Bailey, Women's 75-79 Division Winner.

9/24/05:  Dorothy Bailey has mathematically clinched her 2nd consecutive GP Division Championship!

9/10/05:  Dorothy Bailey takes the demanding hills and trails of Wild Cat Den and scores more points than she has at any other race this year! Simply an amazing feat!

9/5/05:  If you are a woman between the ages of 75 and 79, you have your work cut out for you if you are going to attempt to overtake Dorothy Bailey.  She's got a three race lead on you and everyone is in her rearview mirror.  But, I bet Dorothy wouldn't mind some company from her contemporaries!

7/11/05:  Dorothy Bailey is at this time without peer in the 75-79 age division.  In past years I have inaccurately placed Dorothy in a younger division.  She is also one race away from securing the three race minimum to be eligible for GP championship eligibility.
