Under 15

Post MHSCC:  Sarah Pfeiffer clinches her 1st Grand Prix Championship with her fifth race effort!  Madelaine races in her third race and secures a third place finish for the year!

Post MP&W:  The division will be decided at MHSCC.  Sarah gains ground, Mackinzie and Madelaine move up, and Lindsay Brunson enters in the Top 10.

Post Wild Cat Den:  With two races, it will come down to Courtney and Sarah.

Post Stampede:  Courtney adds to her lead, while Sarah climbs to 2nd place.

7/9/06:   Courtney Van DeMaat, last year's division winner, returns to the top of the standings with her Grandview effort!

Post HNI:  Erica Henderson puts together two solid early-season efforts and finds herself in 1st place!

Next 5:  Michaela Saunders, Emily Stych, Molly Allgood, Savannah Smith, Kaylea Rusch.  (total participants: 64)

15-29

Post MHSCC:  Tess adds to her season point total, and Samantha Moody does likewise finishing in 6th for the year!

Post MP&W:  Tess Weaver clinches her first Grand Prix age division championship!  Carmen Peterson adds race number #2 and vaults almost all the way into 2nd place!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Tess Weaver takes over 1st place with two races left and is the only one with the minimum of three races to qualify for the age division championship.  Good job, Tess!

Post Stampede:  Angela, Rachel and Tess all race for the 2nd time this season and all jump to the top of the leaderboard.

Post Fair:  Emily Barton blew the field away at the Fair.  Will we see her at future GP races?

7/9/06:  Sarah Wells and Britney Yotter break into the Top 10 finishing close to each other at Grandview.

Post HNI:  After two races, The Top 10 requires almost 1000 points to be in, but no one has put together two races efforts yet...

30-34

Post MHSCC:  No movement in the Top 15.

Post MP&W:  Holly Cochran clinches her 1st Grand Prix division championship with her sixth race of the year!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Holly Cochran is a scant 26 points away from mathematically clinching the division!  Adding more points in one of the next two races should make her first championship "a done deal."

Post Stampede:  Jackie Kilburn jumps into 2nd, while Trina Hepker puts up big numbers and enters the Top 10 in 7th.

Post Fair:  Holly stretches the lead and has three join her in the Top 10.

7/9/06:  Holly adds to her lead with the Grandview effort and three of the first four races of the year!  Nancy Davis jumps into the Top 10 with a strong effort.

Post HNI:  Holly Cochran and Anne Deaton are about as close as they can get and are joined by Amanda Henderson atop the division!

Next 5:  Tessa Lambe, Michell Beik, Courtney Boies,  Nancy Davis, Pamela Harvey.  (total participants:  50)

35-39

Post MHSCC:  Linda Steele and Natalie Oppel both complete their 6th races of the season and finish in 2nd and 4th for the season!  Tammi Drawbaugh runs a 7th race, upgrades her score, and in so doing, has just enough to keep her 3rd place finish!  Again, this age division is noteworthy as they went four deep in racing in at least six races!  Thank you!

Post MP&W:  Stacey Eberhard clinches her 2nd Grand Prix age division championship!  This is an amazing age division in that the Top 6 raced at Power & Water!  Good job and thank you!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Stacey did not race at Wild Cat Den, but Linda, Tammi and Sandra all ran, added to their point totals and established themselves in 2nd, 3rd and 5th.

7/9/06:  Stacey puts up big numbers at Grandview and is joined by four other runners in the Top 10, most noteably Tammi Drawbaugh and Natalie Oppel who are about as close to each other after three race efforts as they could be.

Post Malachy:  Stacey finishes 3rd overall at Malachy and adds to her lead.

Post HNI:  Stacey Eberhard is in 1st place!  The great thing is that the top 4 women here have raced both of the first two races!

Next 5:  Heidi Timmons, Cindy Wehrle, Janet Duncan, Eileen Sullivan, Dawn Pence.  (total participants:  45)

40-44

Post MHSCC:  Lisa upgrades to the Perfect Score of 6000!  (Lisa also accomplished this feat in '03.)  Lynette Buesing upgrades with her 7th race effort, Teri Lyon adds a 6th race, while Jean Pfeiffer adds a 5th!  Additionally, Kelly Summers and duathlete phenom, Connie Mann, also race and move up in the final standings! 

Post MP&W:  Lisa Hughes upgrades with outright win #5 of the season!  Lynette gets race #6, Teri gets #5, and Jean gets #4 for their respective season point totals.  Good job, one and all!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Lisa upgrades, and Lynette, Teri and Jean add to their respective season point totals.

Post Stampede:  Lisa Hughes mathematically clinches her 4th consecutive Grand Prix title!

Post Fair:  An unusual scene at the Fair was seeing another woman at the finish line as Lisa was finishing.  Yet another strong point race for both Lisa and Lynette.

7/9/06:  Lisa makes it three straight.  Lynette Buesing also adds points at Grandview and puts a bit of distance between her and those in 4th through 10th.

Post Malachy:  Lisa and Teri go 1st and 2nd at Malachy and remain in that same order in the season age division standings.

Post HNI:  Big numbers early in the season!  Lisa Hughes with her outright win at HNI keeps 1st place, with Teri Lyon and Lynette Buesing not far back in 2nd and 3rd.

Next 5:  Laura Shafer, Felipa Davis, Sara Stych, Audrey Rasmussen, Barb Anderson.  (total participants:  58)

45-49

Post MHSCC:  Paul upgrades and joins the small group of GP diehards who ran in all 9 races!  5 of the Top 10 raced!  Great job y'all!

Post MP&W:  Paula runs in her 8th consecutive race this season!  Denise Hammer jumps to 7th with her race effort!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Paula Gillespie upgrades and clinches the division!  Peggy, Kirsten and Julie move up in the standings and add to their season point totals.

Post Stampede:  An incredibly strong showing for this division!  The invitation is an open one for y'all to come and enjoy the last three races of the year.

Post Fair:  Paula "Fair's well" and has her best point race of the season.  Julie Hammann does likewise and springs into 2nd place.

7/9/06:  Paula G adds to her lead and is joined at Grandview by division counterparts, Jean Bermel and Carol Wyss.

Post Malachy:  Paula's apparent motto:  "race well, race often and make everybody catch me." 

Post HNI:  Paula Gillespie and Peggy Bailey are in 1st and 2nd with Julie Hammann leap-frogging over 5 idle fellow runners and into 3rd!

50-54

Post MHSCC:  Nancy upgrades and Barb Gross adds a sixth race to her very solid season!

Post MP&W:  Nancy Shell clinches her 3rd consecutive Grand Prix age division championship!

Post Wild Cat Den:  Nancy and Barb were joined by Jane Evans and Cindy Hanft.  It will come down to the last two races...

Post Stampede:  Six of the Top 10 race at the Stampede and the season-long race gets interesting heading into the fall!

Post Fair:  Great to see all three of the Top 3 here at the Fair Run!

7/9/06:  Nancy Shell regains the division's top spot after her Grandview effort!

Post Malachy:   This is the only race where there is credit given for participating in a shorter event, aside from the points race.  As such, GP participants in the walking event at Malachy can count it as one of their three minimum races, but get no points for their season totals.  (Thus the *.)

Post HNI:  Barb Gross and Elaine Bates race twice and find themselves in 1st and 3rd place!

55-59

Post MHSCC:  With the last race of the season, Madonna Novak clinches her 4th consecutive Grand Prix Championship!

Post MP&W:  Madonna and Elaine both participated at Power & Water, but because of the race making a formal distinction between entrants identifying themselves as runners and walkers, I don't have the means of calculating Elaine's points. 

Post Wild Cat Den:  Dee Ann Reed was the only age division participant and is in 14th place.  It comes down to the last two races.

Post Stampede:  Madonna and Elaine remain in 1st and 2nd with their 4th races of the year!  Diane Bunker and Polly Anna Howard enter in 3rd and 4th with their Stampede efforts.

7/9/06:  Madonna gets her third race in at Grandview and adds to her lead!

Post HNI:  Madonna Novak starts her season off in fine form and in 1st place!

Post MHSCC:  What is left for one to do if you've already clinched?  How about an upgrade of points!  JoAnn does just that and finishes off another fine GP season!

Post MP&W:  JoAnn Jensen clinches her 4th consecutive Grand Prix age division championship!

Post Wild Cat Den:  3 of the top 4 score points, but it is just about too little, too late for anybody chasing JoAnn...

Post Stampede:  Fantastic to see 6 in the Top 10 participating in the Stampede!

Post MHSCC:  Sue Koehrsen clinches her 3rd consecutive Grand Prix Championship!  Apologies to Sue for the lack of clear direction on the MHSCC course.  Her points for the race are misleading...

Post MP&W:  Sue adds her sixth points race of the season and adds to her lead!

Post Wild Cat Den:  3 in the top 10 at Wild Cat Den, but no major changes in the top 3 with only two races left...

Post Stampede:  Here again, it is great to see so many in the division scoring points at one race!

Post Fair:  Sue Koehrsen takes advantage of a warm and toasty summer morning to score points and add to her lead.

7/9/06:  Sue keeps 1st place, while Ann Shaffer cuts slightly into Sue's lead.

Post MP&W:  There were not enough races run by anyone, and therefore no 70-74 division champion will be crowned this year.

Post Wild Cat Den:  Only one of the six women below could possibly win the age division championship and whoever does, will need to run both MP&W and MHSCC.  This is an All Points Bulletin:  WANTED.  ARE YOU ONE OF THE WOMEN LISTED BELOW?  DO YOU KNOW ONE OF THE WOMEN BELOW?  THERE IS AN AGE DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HAD AND A PLAQUE READY TO BE ENGRAVED WITH YOUR NAME ON IT FOR WINNING THE 70-74 DIVISION OF THE MUSCATINE GRAND PRIX.  LAST CALL...

75-79

Post Wild Cat Den:  Dorothy Bailey clinches the women's 75-79 age division, her third such championship!

Post Stampede:  No participants, and thus, the standings remain the same.

7/9/06:  Dorothy amasses more points on what might be considered her home course (I am unaware of any road races held in Letts or any of it's suburbs...)
