Some of you say that
the people you party and have a beer with are your
brothers. Some believe the
people you ride with are your brothers. Some
say the people you work
with or spend the most time with are your
brothers. Apparently, none
of you have had the insight to figure it out yet.
BROTHERHOOD MUST BE
EARNED.
You can’t spend $20,000
on a brand new Bike, pay $25 and sign your
name on a piece of paper
with a HD mark, Jump into $600 worth
of brand new leathers, and
say, "Look At Me!, NOW I'm a "BRO!,
Let's ride to a Bar or Club
and stare at our bikes"! Please don't insult my
intelligence you fuckin
Yuppie RUB Wannabes. What line were you
standin in when they gave
out balls & brains??
You EARN Brotherhood
by being there when your brothers need you.You
EARN Brotherhood by
working toward a common goal. You EARN
Brotherhood by setting aside
your personal feelings and thinking of
someone else. You EARN Brotherhood
by standing beside your brother
and knowing if he goes down,
he will not go down alone. NO ONE, and I
repeat NO ONE, I don't give
a shit how much you have in
your fuckin checkbook, and
how many "Hawgs" you have in your fuckin
garage, No one knows the
first thing about life and living it, unless they
have stood with a Brother,
Stared into the face of Death, and walked,
crawled or drug each other
out the other side.
If you meet someone early
in the morning, and you work beside that
person to achieve a common
goal, at the end of the day when you are
tired and sore, you stop,
rest, eat and pat one another on the back for a
job well done. You might
party to celebrate, and proceed to play
just as hard as you worked
that day. Others will join in the party. But,
giving a lame excuse
as to why they could’nt be there for the work or the
long drive on a weekday.
And others will join into the party long enough to
be seen with all the "right"
people, only to have to leave for more important
"club?" issues. I
repeat these are NOT your brothers. These are the ones
who are only there to benefit
themselves. That wish to brand themselves as
a "BRO" in a lame attempt
to gain part of their insecuritys of manhood
back after it's been
loss to the real world.
Now, when the day is over,
or the run is on its last day, when you pack up,
and you ride out together,
with heads held high, proud of what you
accomplished together. THAT'S
when you look around and say, "These
are my Brothers, They’ll
never turn thier backs on me. These people care
for me. They will help me
if I am down, they will help my
family if I am gone, and
if I die then they will bury me,
and not be ashamed
to shed a tear for me." "They will drink a
toast for me and throw a
party to remember me and laugh and talk about
the things we did together.
My family will not need nor want as long as
my brothers live, and As
long as they live, I will never be forgotten."
Now Mr. & Mrs. RUB with
his & her rides and the trailer in the
driveway, how far will you
go for your "Bro"? How far and how often will
you reach in your own pocket
for another without concern for repayment or
if its a tax write-off?
But ya still don't get it do you? You don't understand
the mentality that of everything
I have. If I have it, and my brother needs
it, its his, period.
As he does for me. No, and with all the chrome you
can throw on that new
ride. You’ll never understand Brotherhood.
This is my definition, Yours
may be different, And many of my
brothers died for you to
have that right, so by all means You should, but
you also should know, if
you don't fit this definition, you’ll never make
the grade as my brother,
nor will I ever recognize your existence.
CALL
ME SIDECAR, KNOW ME WELL, YOU MAY CALL ME BROTHER
ASK CARLIN WHAT HE THINKS
